What We Believe
Who We Are & What We Do
At Wyatt Park Christian Church, we are historically a part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and are rooted in the American Restoration Movement—sometimes called the Stone-Campbell Movement. This movement began with a simple dream: to follow Jesus faithfully, take Scripture seriously, and seek unity in the Church.
At our core, we believe Christianity is centered on Jesus—who He is, what He taught, and how He invites us to live. We strive to be “Christians only, but not the only Christians,” welcoming people from many backgrounds as we grow together in faith.
We believe the Bible is a gift from God that guides our lives and shapes our community. We read it thoughtfully, prayerfully, and together, trusting the Holy Spirit to lead us as we seek truth and wisdom.
We celebrate baptism by immersion as an important step of faith and a beautiful expression of new life in Christ. We also gather regularly at the Lord’s Table to remember Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, and to experience His grace in community.
We value freedom of conscience and encourage honest questions, thoughtful dialogue, and personal spiritual growth. We believe faith is meant to be lived out—not just believed—through love, service, justice, and compassion.
Above all, we believe God’s grace is for everyone. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome here. We are learning, growing, and following Jesus together—one step at a time.
We Believe
With Christians past, present, and all throughout the world we confess the words of the Apostle's Creed
We believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again; He ascended into heaven, He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
