The Creation Window is a work of art to the glory of God. It provides a 40-foot wall of color and light behind the church baptistry. Daily movement of the sun creates dancing sunbeams throughout each day.
This St. Joseph landmark was designed and built by the Emil Frei Stained Glass Studio in St. Louis when the sanctuary was built in 1957. Robert Frei was the artist and this magnificent window has been featured in a variety of articles and books.
The Creation Window has a definite message and brochures are available in the sanctuary that explain the symbolism seen in the window. Of course, it is not necessary to understand the message in order to enjoy the window's majesty and beauty. This was a deliberate part of Frei's design. The artist's message speaks of God's continual creative power in our lives and in the universe.
You are welcome anytime to come and enjoy this work of art. The church is open weekdays, 8:30 - 4:30, and during 4 worship services each weekend.
