Where Jesus Walked

A ten-week class introducing you to the land of Israel is offered on Wednesday nights, now through March 28. Taught by Pastor Scott Killgore, you will explore the places where Jesus and his disciples walked, and read some of the stories that took place at those locations. It's a great way to discover the real people and real places we encounter in Scripture. The class meets in the Fireside Room.

Worship This Weekend

This weekend (January 28-29) we will continue our journey through the gospel of Luke. We are spending almost 5 months going through Luke, and encountering every verse in that wonderful gospel. This weekend, our middle school and high school youth will lead worship and focus on Luke 6:17-49. In this section we will explore some extended teaching by Jesus about how we are to live. Some of it is not easy at all, but every bit of it makes sense and points us to life that is more full and satisfying.

MISSION TRIP TO JAMAICA

A 23-member mission team leaves Saturday, January 28, for a week-long mission trip to Jamaica. Led by Dr. Tom and Susie Alderson, the team of doctors, dentists, nurses, and helpers will provide medical and dental care to many hundreds of people in the Black River district of southwestern Jamaica. Please keep the team in prayer as they serve in Jesus' name in a part of Jamaica that the tourists don't see.

 Let's Fill "Wyatt Park Stadium"

It's SOUPER BOWL time! Our "stadium" is beginning to fill up, but your food donations are needed! Each year, in connection with the NFL's main event, we join with our partners at InterServ to help feed the hungry in St. Joseph. Bring soup or other non-perishable food items and let's fill the "stadium" in our Friendship Area. Once the stadium is full (to overflowing!), we will take the food to the Calvin Center Food Pantry, where InterServ will distribute it to people in need in our community.

Helping Our Partners At Lake

We are partnered with Lake Contrary Elementary School. We work with the people at Lake in a variety of ways. One way to serve that is always needed is being a mentor. Mentors are caring adults willing to spend a little time with a child. There is also a need for volunteers willing to help out in other ways (i.e. in the school library, with special events, etc.).

Our partnership with Lake gives you an excellent opportunity to serve in Jesus' name, and do so right here in St. Joseph. A table is set up in the Friendship Area with information about the some of the needs and ways that you might participate. For more information, or to add your name to the list of volunteers, contact Coordinating Team leaders Beth Zahnd or Jenny Moore.

Children's Clothing Source

Jacob's Closet is a ministry that provides clothing to children in need (infant through 6th grade) at no cost.  We  always welcome clothing donations to replenish our shelves. If you have clothes to donate, please leave them in the cabinet in the Circle Drive (south) Entrance. Financial donations are always welcome in order to purchase socks and underwear.  For more information or to make an appointment to visit the Closet, call the church office at 232-3374.
